The Art Spark: A Creative Classroom

Week 1: Zoo Animals
June 2-6

Ages 3-5 years | Ages 5-10 years
Giraffes, peacocks, polar bears, and more! What other types of animals might live at our zoo? Sparklers will create their very own zoo animals and carefully design habitats for their animals to live in. What other things might our zoo need? A train? A playground? A snack shop? It’s up to the sparklers to decide as we brainstorm an amazing zoo!


Week 1: Holiday World
June 2-6

Ages 4-5 years | Ages 6-10 years (12 spots)

Holidays are the most special time of year! Sparklers will pick their favorite holiday and work individually or in teams to paint, draw, sculpt and create their holiday. What imagery comes to mind to draw or paint? Should we build a pretend haunted house? Make Valentines? Have an Easter egg hunt? It’s up to the Sparklers to decide!

Week 1: Happy Little Brushes
June 2-6

Ages 8-12
Ready to unleash your inner artist and paint “happy little trees” just like the legendary Bob Ross? We’ll teach you the joyful art of painting with big brushes, soft strokes, and loads of creativity. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just starting out, this camp will help you learn the techniques that made Bob Ross famous—while having tons of fun along the way!

 

 

Week 2: Appalachian Trail Adventure
June 9-13

Ages 3-5 years | 5-10 years
Hey backpackers! Let’s get out our maps, pack our tents, canteens, and flashlights as we create and  hike the Appalachian Trail. What famous landmarks and scenery can we paint, sculpt draw and imagine? Should we make trail maps? Build a campfire? Roast smores? What animals might we see on the trail? We’ll be ready to teach a survival course by the end of this adventure!

Week 2: Magic Garden 
June 9-13

Ages 3-5 years | 5-10 years 

Just over the bridge and beyond the willow tree is a babbling brook surround by a garden with fairies, dragons, gnomes, and unicorns! Sparklers will imagine what grows in a magic garden and who lives there? What makes the flowers grow? Glitter? They will work to transform our studio into an enchanted garden! 

 

Week 3: Critter Clinic
June 16-20
9-Noon
Ages 3-5 | 5-10 years 

Cats, dogs, guinea pigs, birds, and more will be well taken care of at our Critter Clinic! Sparklers will create their very own stuffed animal to care for and then build an animal clinic and everything that goes with it. Do we need bandages? Animal food? Crates? Leashes? Animal toys? A yard for them to get exercise? Treats? Animals receive only the best care while at our clinic!

 

 

Week 3: Character Creators 
June 16-20
1-4 PM
Ages 4-5 | 6-10

Sparklers will imagine, draw, sculpt, and create their very own characters! Throughout the week we will use our characters as inspiration! Will we write stories about what happens to our character? Make character costumes? Animate our characters in flip books? Use model magic to sculpt our characters? Its up to the Sparklers to decide! 

Week 4: African Safari
June 23-27
9-Noon
Ages 3-5 | 5-10 

Quick get your camera! Let’s jump in a jeep and explore the African Savanna!! What animals will we see on our adventure?  Elephants? Lions? Giraffes? Hyenas? Warthogs? Will we visit during the rainy season? What will the weather be like? What does the landscape look like? Will we need binoculars and travel kits?  Will they need proper safari attire? We will create large murals, animals, and a jeep to explore our very own African Safari adventure! 

 

Week 4: Spa Day
June 23-27

Ages 4-5 | 6-10 (12 spots)
Close your eyes, put your feet in the foot bath and relax! You’re at the SPA! Sparklers will work to create their very own oasis! What do we need? A manicure/pedicure station? Zen gardens? A waterfall? A smoothie  bar? A fish tank? Will we need to create color swatches for the manicure station? Create calming abstract art to hang on the walls? Sparklers will create a spa to play in and explore on Friday! 

 

Week 4: Serious About Crafts
June 23-27
1-4 PM 
Ages 8-12
This camp is all about turning ordinary materials into amazing crafts. Whether you’re weaving colorful potholders, creating beaded animal keychains, tying quilts, or making colorful tie-dye art, every day is a new adventure in crafting!
Week 5: Alien for a Day
June 30-July 3 *Shortened Week

Ages 3-5 | 5-10

Greetings Earthlings! You have been selected to come to our planet and explore life on planet Waffle Hole! A planet whose craters are shaped like waffle holes! Sparklers will imagine what other things might be on planet waffle hole and what alien life is like! How will they travel? Where will they sleep? What will they do for fun? Sparklers will paint, draw, sculpt and imagine a life that is truly out of this world!

 

 

Week 5: Mystical Miniatures 
June 30-July 3 * Shortened Week
1-4 PM
Ages 4-5 | 6-10

Sparklers will imagine their very own miniature creature with magic powers! Will it be part dragon part humming bird and have invisibility powers? Where does it live? How does it use its powers for good? Will we create trading cards? Imagination will ignite as we create amazing creatures that pack power! We will work to paint, sculpt, draw and create many projects inspired by our creatures!

Week 6: Food Truck Festival
July 7-11 
9-Noon
Ages 3-5 |  5-10

When you want to try a little bit of everything let’s head to a food truck festival. Sparklers will work individually and in groups to build food trucks for a food truck festival. How will we design our trucks? What types of food should we serve? What will we need to run our food truck? A credit card machine? A grill? A freezer? SParklers will make food trucks and everything that goes with it for this Food Truck Festival! 

 

Week 6: Baby-Sitters Club
July 7-11
1-4 PM
Ages 4-5 | 6-10

Let’s take care of little ones who need us the most! Sparklers will work to create their very own baby dolls.  They will then build a baby-sitters club where they create all the things their little ones may need. Will they need bottles? Toys? Cribs? Diaper bags? Nursery music playing? It’s up to the Sparklers to decide!

Week 7: Wonders of the World
July 14-18
9-Noon
Ages 3-5 | 5-10

Let’s learn about the wonders of the world, from the Great Wall of China, to the Northern Lights, to the Egyptian pyramids, our world is filled with amazing things! Sparklers will paint, draw, sculpt and create art inspired by the many wonders of the world. Will we want to hike the grand canyon? Paint Victoria Falls? There is so much to inspired by! 

 

Week 7: Abstract Art
July 14-18
1-4 PM
Ages 4-5 | 6-10 

Its time to create layers, textures, and explore new techniques in art! Will we learn processes in marbling? Paint with squirt guns? Mix up plaster? Paint in patterns on canvas? Will we fold paper into different shapes? Create texture tiles? Sparklers will try out a variety of different techniques as they learn about the magic of abstract art.

Week 8: Island Adventure
July 21-25
9-Noon
Ages 3-5 | 5-10

Imagine an island in the sun with palm trees, coconuts, volcanoes, and more! Sparklers will imagine what life would be like on an island! Will they sleep in hammocks? Is there a giant volcano? Is there lush tropical foliage? What animals live in the ocean and around the island? Sparklers will imagine the island of their dreams and find a treasure map on Friday!

 

Week 8: The Great Art Spark Bake Off!
July 21-25

Ages 4-5 | 6-10

Each day at The Great Art Spark Bake Off there will be different baking challenges! One day we may be using model magic to sculpt treats, the next we may be challenged to build a bakery facade, and another day we may be learning how to decorate real cookies with royal icing! Sparklers will brainstorm everything a baking competition would need and build the bakery of their dreams!

Week 9: Dream House
July 28-Aug 1

Ages 3-5 | 5-10

Sparklers will work to imagine the home of their dreams! Will they imagine water slides? A roller coaster? A spa? A basketball court? Sparklers will paint walls, hang light fixtures, build furniture, and more as they create the coolest house on the block! 

 

Week 9: Things that Go

Ages 4-5 | 6-10 

Are you ready for the ultimate transportation adventure? This camp will explore the world’s coolest ways to get around—by boat, helicopter, hot air balloon, and so much more! Whether soaring through the sky or gliding across the water, imagination will ignite on every adventure!  Let’s paint, draw, sculpt and create things that go!

Week 9: Jewelry
July 28-Aug 1

Ages 8-12
Ready to turn your creativity into sparkling masterpieces? Sparklers will learn to create beautiful, custom jewelry using a variety of fun and exciting techniques. Whether you dream of making your own bracelets, necklaces, rings, or earrings, this camp will help you design and craft unique pieces you can wear or gift to friends and family!

 

Week 10: Sweet Shop

Welcome to Sweet Shop, where your wildest candy store dreams come to life through art! This summer, we’re turning creativity into a sweet, colorful adventure as we build a pretend candy store using all kinds of fun art supplies. Whether you love drawing, painting, or crafting, this camp will let your imagination run wild as you create the sweetest store in town!

 

Week 10: Nature’s Palette

Let’s use nature’s palette to create amazing and unique art! This summer, we’ll take art outside, using the beauty of the natural world to create stunning, one-of-a-kind masterpieces. From leaves and flowers to rocks and sticks, nature has everything you need to make art that’s as wild and beautiful as the world around us!
